In my world right now those little tasks can cause me to completely lose tracking on the missions which they are meant to support. A supreme effort goes into planning and sometimes the completed mission looks nothing like it did on paper. It reminds me of a phenomenon called "target frustration", something experienced by carrier pilots. The pilots are taught to concentrate on the end of the carrier when approaching for landing. Sometimes the pilots concentrate so completely on the end of the carrier that they fly right into it.
